Our Story & Our Tae Kwon Do Classes

GSCC's STORY-

Good Shepherd Community Church is a church plant which is basically just a brand new church started from scratch just like in the book of Acts. We officially incorporated as a church in Sept 2018. Pastor Paul had been a full time pastor since he was 23 years old. He had always dreamed of planting a brand new church and when looking at demographics he knew Blount County was the place. He became a bi-vocational pastor taking a secular job so we could plant the church. Paul finished his bachelors degree at Samford University in 1993, went to Beeson Divinity school for his Masters of Divinity and then to New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary finishing his doctorate in 2005.

We have around 20 attending right now so we are growing. We meet in the old plantation golf course steak house. Children through adults all sit in for the preaching/teaching at 10 am. The dining room is our sanctuary.

Our slogan says what we are about- “A simple church, a simple message, welcome home.” We are trying to get back to the basics of being a Bible centered church. We focus on the basics of knowing God’s word in a day and time where that’s what we need.

Feel free to join us Sunday at 10am. We are very laid back.

TAE KWON DO CLASSES-  Tuesday/Thursday 6 pm

We offer Tae Kwon Do on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6pm. Mr. Nathan Rudd and his wife, Natalie, are two of our members. Mr. Rudd is a second-degree black belt and teaches our Tae Kwon Do classes. He does a phenomenal job and as he teaches he shares Christ with everyone. In our Tae Kwon Do classes we have children from five years old all the way up to 51 years old. The classes are free as Nathan doesn’t want to take any money for teaching. He sees it as a ministry God has given him. He asks if people can afford to donate to the church to do so so we can pay the utilities.
